From Reggio to Traces to Perron

Pedagogiek 07, in collaboration with Reggio Children, hosts the
‘Traces of Reggio Two-Day Dialogue’.
During this special encounter where theory and practice meet, you will:

  • Learn directly from one of the founding figures of the Reggio Approach®
  • See the principles in practice at Perron 07, the ‘Traces of Reggio’ school
  • Gain hands-on experience in inspiring ateliers
  • Connect with like-minded professionals

Day 1 — The Essence of Reggio

On the first day, we welcome Tiziana Filippini, pedagogista from Reggio Children and one of the foundational voices of the Reggio Approach®.
At the Utopie, The Hague, Filippini will guide participants—through images, stories, and traces from the infant-toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia—into understanding the core principles of this pedagogical philosophy.

Day 2 — Theory Becomes Practice

The second day brings us to Perron 07, founded by ‘Pedagogiek 07’ in 2014 in The Hague, where the principles of the Reggio philosophy have been researched, interpreted, and translated into the Dutch context.
Here you will experience how these principles take shape in:

  • Meaningful everyday offerings
  • Thoughtfully designed learning environments
  • The use of rich and diverse materials
  • The role of the atelier in uncovering young children’s thinking and learning processes
  • Documentation that makes these processes visible to everyone

A deep understanding of the Atelier

A distinctive part of Day 2 is the series of ateliers led by Traces atelierista’s Devi Roebers and Nimca Zandvliet.
In these creative research spaces, you will experience firsthand how materials and environments can invite wonder, investigation, and learning.

Who is this Two-Day Dialogue for?

This encounter is meaningful for anyone involved in the development and education of young children:

  • Pedagogical professionals
  • Researchers
  • (Pedagogical) artists
  • Policy-makers and leaders
  • Teacher educators and education professionals
  • Those interested in innovative pedagogical approaches

“To make a loveable school (industrious, inventive, liveable, documentable and communicable, a place of research, learning, re-cognition and reflection) where children, and teachers, and parents, feel well: this is our landing place.”

Loris Malaguzzi

This Two-Day Dialogue offers a unique opportunity to become acquainted—or deepen your familiarity—with the Reggio Approach® in the Netherlands, and to explore Perron 07, where years of research have led to a thoughtful interpretation within the Dutch context.
Together, we will investigate how this inspiring pedagogical perspective can enrich and transform our own pedagogical practice.
